O-shaped body type guide
O-shaped body: the Hello Moon guide to creating outfits that reflect your style
At Hello Moon, we believe that a successful outfit isn’t about following rules. We want to make fashion easier in your everyday life.
This guide is designed to help you understand your body shape and put together outfits that make you feel good, without boxing you into categories.
Our goal is to help you avoid the dreaded “I have nothing to wear” by making it easier to create the right combinations from your wardrobe.
Understanding your body shape
O-shaped body types refer to a figure with soft, harmonious curves, with more volume around the bust, stomach, and sometimes the hips.
It is often a very feminine figure, with rounded, natural lines.
At Hello Moon, we are not trying to “correct” a body shape, but to understand how clothing can complement a figure and create different effects depending on your preferences.
How to take your measurements easily
To better understand your body shape, you can look at 3 areas:
- the shoulders
- the waist
- the hips
In front of a mirror, simply identify:
- whether your shape is more rounded
- whether your waist is not very defined
- whether your proportions are distributed in a soft, continuous way
That’s more than enough to determine your body shape.
The advantages of an O-shaped body type
The O-shaped body type has many beautiful assets:
- a feminine and harmonious silhouette
- natural, soft curves
- great elegance in flowing cuts
- an ease with wearing comfortable clothing
This body type is particularly well suited to pleasant fabrics and clothing that moves with you.

- Slightly loose tops
- Lightweight, breathable fabrics
- Vertical details to create visual structure
Jeans and trousers
The lower half of the body can vary greatly depending on your preferences.
- Straight-leg trousers
- Straight-leg jeans
- Fluid trousers
- High-waisted trousers for gentle structure
- Wide-leg trousers for a comfortable, modern look
- Cigarette trousers, depending on the desired style
Dresses
Dresses are particularly well suited to an O-shaped body type.
- Empire-waist dresses
- Flowy dresses
- Wrap dresses
- Shirt dresses worn slightly open

The goal is to prioritize comfort and freedom of movement.
Skirts
Skirts can be worn in many different ways:
- Flowy midi skirts
- Relaxed straight skirts
- Soft pleated skirts
- A-line skirts
Sweaters and cardigans
Knitwear should be comfortable and fluid:
- Straight, slightly oversized sweaters
- Fine or medium-weight knitwear
- Open-front cardigans to elongate the silhouette
- Slightly long sweaters to follow the lines
Jackets and coats
Jackets add light structure to the silhouette.
- Open blazers
- Straight, non-fitted jackets
- Fluid coats
- Open trench coats to create a vertical line
Why does it work?
Our eyes are naturally drawn to lines, shapes, and contrasts.
An outfit works when:
- the proportions are harmonious
- the clothes follow the figure without restricting it
- the vertical lines are emphasized
Our ideas for your wardrobe
At Hello Moon, we believe a great outfit starts with the right combination.
That’s why we select clothes that are easy to mix and match. The goal isn’t to fill your wardrobe, but to help you put together outfits that make you feel good, without spending long minutes hesitating in front of your closet.
Take a flowing dress, for example. The same piece can complement a multitude of styles depending on your mood that day:
- with a denim jacket and sneakers for a casual look
- with a blazer and loafers for a more elegant outfit
- with a belt to gently define the silhouette
- with a long coat for a fluid, harmonious silhouette
Béryl’s advice
When I select a piece, I always consider its potential within a complete wardrobe.
If it can be worn in several ways, in different styles, then it has a place at Hello Moon.
Because a garment we wear often is one that naturally fits in with the rest of our wardrobe.
